The Big Pregnancy Countdown 2019

On 19 Jan 2019, SMG Women’s Health organised an intimate get-together session for soon-to-be mummies at different stages of pregnancy to learn more about their pregnancy journey and pick up preparation tips in anticipation of their little ones!

The event was held at 10 Square, Orchard Central. Besides an exciting line-up of speakers and topics, the expecting mummies and daddies also got to snap up attractive deals from our partners like Stemcord, Ashley Low Photography, Beauty Mums and Babies, The Dental Studio and Qiren.

Dr Teo Cheng Peng from Stemcord opened the session sharing on cord blood and cord stem cells banking, which is one of the most frequently discussed topics among parents-to-be.

Dr James LeeDr James Lee from Astra Women’s Specialists then touched on the pregnancy journey across the different trimesters. He advised all pregnant women to take good care of their health and to avoid catching the flu or coming down with a fever. If they do fall sick, it is absolutely important to rest and recover as quickly as possible. Dr Lee also shared on foetal growth and how mummies can help the little one inside them maintain an optimal size throughout the pregnancy. Adequate nutrition and good eating habits definitely play a huge part!

Dr James Lee currently practises at Astra Women’s Specialists at Punggol, Bishan and Novena.

With her 26 years of experience, she demonstrated the basics of baby massage with simple step-by-step instructions that parents could easily replicate at home.
