Vegetables

Kale and carrots are great sources of vitamin A, which helps to promote good eyesight. The commonly known beta-carotene found in carrots is actually a form of vitamin A. These vegetables, along with other leafy greens like spinach, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts, also contain an excellent combination of lutein and zeaxanthin, which protects the eyes from vision loss and aging conditions like cataract and macular degeneration.

Blueberries are rich in antioxidants called anthocyanin which promotes eye health and prevent eye diseases such as cataract and macular degeneration. Like carrots, rock melons and peaches are filled with beta-carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin that improve eye vision and prevent deterioration. Peaches also contain biochemicals that protect the eye tissues from internal and external damage.

Omega-3 Rich Food

These fatty acids provide structural support to our cell membranes and contribute to good eye health. Omega-3 helps to enhance retinal function, as well as the part of the brain that contributes to perfect eyesight. It has also been shown to keep dry eyes at bay. Dry nuts like walnuts and sunflower seeds are great sources of omega-3 and vitamin E.
